This Privacy Policy explains what information Twesmo, provided by NCIT Solutions ("we", "us"), collects when you use our mobile app and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data — your name and mobile phone number, which you give us when you sign up.
- Your contacts — with your permission, the app reads the names and phone numbers in your address book to show which of your contacts use Twesmo. They are checked against our users and are not stored on our servers; a copy is kept only on your phone.
- Pings — who pinged whom, when, and whether the ping was answered, declined or missed.
- Chat content — the messages, photos, videos, voice messages and PDF files you send in a chat.
- Notifications — a record of your ping notifications, shown on the Notifications page.
- Device data — a push notification (FCM) token, your device type and the app's language, so we can alert you to incoming pings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account, including verifying your phone number with a one-time SMS code.
- To deliver pings, messages and notifications between you and the people you communicate with.
- To show your recent contacts, ping history and notifications.
- To answer support messages and keep the service working, secure and free of abuse.
3. Who Can See Your Chats
Chat content can only be seen by the two people in the chat. Photos, videos, voice messages and files open inside the app and are only sent to those two people after they sign in. The app has no option to download or share chat content, and on Android it blocks screenshots and screen recording of chats. The person you chat with could still, for example, photograph their screen with another device, so only share what you are comfortable sharing.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising. We use trusted providers to run parts of the service: Twilio to send SMS verification codes, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, and hosting providers to store and serve the app's data. Otherwise, we share information only when required by law or to protect the safety of our users and platform.
5. Permissions the App Asks For
- Contacts — to find which of your contacts use Twesmo.
- Notifications — to alert you to incoming pings.
- Microphone — to record voice messages, only while you are recording.
- Camera — to take photos to send in a chat, only when you tap the camera button.
- Phone — to show incoming pings like calls.
You can turn permissions off in your phone's settings; some features will then stop working.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account exists. When your account is deleted, your account, pings, chats (including the photos, videos, voice messages and files in them, for you and the people you chatted with) and notifications are permanently deleted. We keep information after that only where the law requires us to.
7. Your Rights
- See your account details, ping history and notifications in the app.
- Delete your account at any time from More > Delete Account in the app, or request deletion via our Delete Account page.
- Ask to access or correct your information, or send privacy questions, using our Contact Us page.
8. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections and access controls. However, no method of storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
9. Children
Twesmo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version, and the date it was last updated, will always be available on this page.
